Keisha C. Morrisey's Philosophy
"Why She is a Republican."
Harlem has been voting Democrat for many years, even as the Democrat machine has moved further out of step with it's constituents
on the issues. Harlem inner city, happens to be Black and Latino people, the vast "fiscal and human resource" remain
exploited. The New York City Democrat machine takes the voters in this district for granted. This year, the Republican Party
will make a strong challenge for these voters. Mayor Michael R. Bloomberg and his unprecedented victory across political party
lines continue to be an inspiration and mentor to us all.
Our district needs to create jobs, develop policies for housing, small business opportunities and more money to the community,
that will impact delivery of service, economic development and training for residets and urban youth. Our district needs to
benefit from the significant gains in first class education in our schools, family values, free enterprise, quality of life,
safety, protection of the air and water, and a sound economy.
Republicans support fiscal responsibility in government, sound national security, strong national defense, the Republican
Party supports free trade, promotes individual rights and responsibilities and reach out to communities and their cultures,
the Republican Party supports, transition from welfare to work fulltime in a safe work place with companies that receive tax
dollars to pay workers living wages and protection for Working Families. The Urban Vote and Youth are awakening intellectually
and aware that they have been taken advantage of and deserve better.
The Republican Party controls politics in Harlem, New York City and New York State, including the Governor George E. Pataki
and the Secretary of State Randy A. Daniels and our newly elected Mayor Michael R Bloomberg. The Republican Party dominates
and make up the majority, in both the Congress, United States House of Representatives and the United States Senate in Washington,
DC. The Republican Party is an important role in the economic development and future of the Greater Harlem Community, New
York City and Upstate, New York. The Republican Party leadership is the best vehicle for translating the ideas and successful
priciples of government and is dedicated to a better stronger New York.
We are entering crucial times for our communities and nations, we also see that City State and Federal leaders and their
political units only respond to organized groups that can deliver votes, or contribute serious financial resources, the inner
city communities have the potential of doing both and in greater forces than the rural or suburban communities. We must be
made to feel accepted invited and wanted within the ranks of City and State operations, Our President George W. Bush has said
this on many occasions and has backed it up.
"While talking with voters in my district during the petitioning process, I have been advised by many about their
disillusionment because they have no option to compete with and challenge the Democrat elected officials."
